About

The solarpunk musings on how to rebuild a world ravaged by natural and manmade disasters.

As the world provides more reminders of the brutality of maintaining ‘normalcy’ and the straying from that normalcy with each act of brutality, Resilient Towns tries to imagine how life could look like with recent advancements in technology and a more holistic approach to human settlement. These are dreams that exist outside the existing guidelines and power structures, outside zoning ordinances and building codes. Outside cost analysis and grant proposals. These ideas are meant to inspire new ways of looking at our neighborhoods and communities, and rethink what is possible.

A disclaimer. These ideas are geared towards the global west, with a strong focus on American towns. Mainly on my town in the western North Carolina mountains. I welcome other thinkers to continue the experiment with their communities and respond to the unique obstacles and problems of that corner of the world.

Imagine something different.
